How to get there
This museum offers insight into Tanzania’s social experiment called “Ujamaa na Kujitegemea” , literary translated, it means socialism and self reliance. This policy came into being at this very building in 1967 and was aimed to create a just and self-reliant African society based on these principles. In many ways, this policy led to development of a modern Tanzania as we see it today and for years to come.

How to get there:
This unique and colorful market is just a few hundred meters from Arusha’s famous clock tower. It is filled with all kinds of local artifacts and curios of all sizes. You will also meet local artisans busy making different kind of carvings. It is definitely a place not to miss while in Arusha.

As well designed and planned art gallery, there is a wide range of African carvings, and painting as well as exquisite pieces of art and jewelry from all over africa! There is also an onsite restaurant which offers great meals.

This is an excellent place to get to meet the local Meru people as they go by their daily lives. What makes this visit unique an interesting is that you get to experience a true rural life in Arusha, engage in conversation, visit the local school, coffee farms, tree planting, pick your own coffee, roast, grind and enjoy it. Finally, you can have traditionally prepared lunch!

Arusha National park:
Lake Manyara national park:This park is located some 150km from Arusha, it lies at the bottom of the Rift Valley and is home to large mammals and once tree climbing lions.
Tarangire national park:This is a giant which is lesser known but it is one of those parks that have it all, from age old baobab trees dotting this part, to the famous big tusks elephants and a variety of carnivores. This park is a favorite gateway for the day. Drive time about 3 hours or 150km.
